The Fresno State Women’s Volleyball team looks to put a run together to finish regular season play in November.
With a few road games left before the team returns home to finish off the regular season, the team looks to bounce back against two tough opponents. Utah State and Boise State are two teams who gave the Bulldogs some trouble on the road in their first round of conference play, losing the matches 0-3.
The highlight of the match against Utah State for Fresno State was sophomore Addison Haluska who tallied up 11 kills matching Utah State’s Shelby Capllonch 11 kills.
Haluska is the team leader in kills, with 296 on the season this far. She is one setter Brooke Cowie is always looking to find to help put the ball down offensively.
Redshirt freshman Jenna Legault has high praise for her teammate Haluska, telling The Collegian, “I think her overall game has just gotten way better and more mature,” Legault said. “She gets out there and jumps really high.”
Defensively, freshman standout libero Dionii Fraga recorded 12 digs and Brooke Cowie with 28 assists.
Libero Dionii Fraga is coming off of her first Mountain West Conference weekly award last week, earning the Mountain West award for Freshman of the Week. Fraga is leading the conference with an average of 4.33 digs per set.
The Savemart Center has definitely served as home court advantage for the dogs, with a solid record of 6-2. The atmosphere at the Savemart Center is unlike any other collegiate arena.
Utah State and Boise State will be great revenge matchups for the Bulldogs to even the season series between the two. With the team rising to the occasion in recent games, these two home matchups will be a great way to finish off conference play.
