“Katt Williams: The Dark Matter Tour” is coming to the Save Mart Center on Dec. 31, at 8:00 p.m.

Katt Williams said he calls his tour “The Dark Matter Tour,” because of this time in history, we know more about the universe and space then we have ever known in the history of mankind. And the jokes fly from there. Check out Katt Williams: Dark Matter Tour TikTok clip.

The actor and comedian was born in Cincinnati, and he grew up in Dayton, Ohio.

According to Williams’ IMDb, throughout his professional journey, he has used his comedy as a tool to travel the country and has accumulated a massive fan base in the process.

Williams won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2018 for “OutStanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series,” for playing “Willie the Alligator Man,” in a Hulu episode of Atlanta.

Steven Lolli, comedian, met Williams while performing in black audience clubs in L.A. “I was the only white Jewish guy performing in black comedy clubs for many years,” Lolli said.

He said they had a lot of the same close friends playing in South Central LA comedy clubs like the Juke Joint, and one of those friends introduced him to Williams.

This happened during Myspace days. Lolli wrote his Myspace address on a cocktail napkin before he went on stage. He told Williams that if he liked his comedy, he would love to write for him. The next day he called.

“It was a little bit of a grace of God thing to be honest with you,” Lolli said. ”He offered me a writing job and gave me a bunch of money and it really helped me.”

Lolli said he was living really rough and that Willams even offered him a place to live at the time. Willams would tell people,”“We have facilities, if you need a place to shower or a place to stay, you can stay here.”

The year was 2007 and Williams was already famous, however, in 2008 he became the top grossing comedian in North America, and Lolli was with him for that.

Lolli worked with Williams during the time of his comedy documentaries. “Pimpin’ Pimpin’,” and “American Hustle.” He said that Willaims wanted to help the careers of his crew and that he just wanted them around as a resource that he could go to.

Lolli said that Williams’ two most favorite comedians are Mr. Bean and Don Knots. They would sit and watch their movies in his office. He also loved “Napoleon Dynamite” and Borat.

“We would just sit and talk about our love for comedy,” Lolli said.

He said that Williams overstepped all of the comics that were in the pipeline to be the next Eddie Murphy or the next Richard Pryor. Those guys were hanging out at the Improv or Chocolate Sundays, but Williams came out of the back channels.

Williams came out of the Hollywood Park Casino and that is where he launched his empire from, similar to the same pathway as Robin Harris. Harris didn’t come out of Hollywood, he came out of the hood.

Lolli said that he thinks Williams is one of the greatest comedians of all time.

“He could read you the phone book and be funny,” Lolli said.
